Vintage Machine Rental

Are you curious about Vintage Machines?  Is your regular machine in the shop or just isn’t cutting it for the job?  Or maybe you have a small repair to make but don’t own a machine?  If so, a short term rental might be for you.

The machine will come prethreaded and a short lesson will be provided on how to use the machine (not a sewing lesson but a lesson on how to use the machine ).  A security deposit will be required and depends on the machine.  The rental fee for sewing machines is is $5 per day, $25 per week or $50 per month.  The rental fee for the serger is $8 a day, $40 a week, $80 for the month. All machines come from my personal collection and are regularly serviced.  I have posted some of the machines available for rent below but please inquire as I have others that might be appropriate based on your need. 

The 401A is often lauded as the last really “vintage” Singer machine, as it was the last all-metal machine Singer sold. This mid-century machine is considered remarkably solid and durable.  It has a good selection of decorative stitches, plus your usual zig zag and straight stitch. It has a reverse function. It uses common Singer 66 drop In bobbins.

The Singer 319w is as unique as it comes.   It’s consider a swing machine as it uses unique engineering to make the needle bar move.  It takes non standard bobbins and needles.  You will be provided extra needles just in case since you cannot put a standard needle in this machine.   She sews a straight stitch, zig zag plus a variety of decorative stitches and has a reverse.

This Singer 99 is pretty and delicate but sews a beautiful stitch with power.  She is a straight stitch only machine and does not have a reverse function. Perfect for quilting or jobs that just need a simple straight stitch.

This White serger is smooth, sturdy and reliable.  She is a challenge to thread so she will come prethreaded with adequate white thread for you to complete your project.   Note that this serger is vintage meaning it doesn’t have modern things you would expect with newer sergers like rolled hem or differential feed.
