Custom sewing and Alterations

From prom to everyday wear, I offer quality alterations with your budget in mind. I’ll always try to suggest options that save money and extend the life of your clothing. For example, with kids’ clothes, I often leave extra fabric in the hem or seams to allow room for growth.

All genders, body shapes and sizes welcome.   Inclusive and affirming — everyone is welcome here. 

• I do not alter wedding dresses.
• If possible and appropriate, prewash and dry garments new garments before your fitting to avoid shrinkage after altering. 
• For fittings, bring the shoes and undergarments you plan to wear with the outfit—especially for dresses or pants.
• I will not alter garments marked or measured by clients.  I must mark them myself to ensure a proper fit.  Fitting appointments are free!
• I offer a free appointment to help you measure for online ordering of prom or formal dresses.  Note that this free measuring appointment doesn't guarentee fit but simply tells you what your measurements are so that you can decide what the best size would be to order based on the sizing chart on the website.  (i.e. I am not responsible for the fit of the dress.)
• I will not alter dirty garments for the protection of my clients and my machines (including hockey jerseys).  Please make sure you properly clean items before bringing them to me. Dirty items will be returned unaltered.

• Basic pant hem (machine): $10
• Euro hem on jeans (original hem): $15
• Suit jacket sleeve shortening (conditions apply): $35
• Suit pant hem (blind hem, machine): $10
• Dress hem (single layer): starting at $40 (depending on skirt width)
• All other alterations will be quoted following a fitting appointment.  Cost is based on time and complexity of the alteration.

Fittings are by appointment only and take place in my home in Stittsville, ON. The exact address will be provided upon booking.

Regular appointment times:

• Saturday & Sunday mornings
• Monday evenings

Each fall, I sew hockey name bars and donate 50% of proceeds to a local charity. For 2025, I donated $1156 to Rock Out for Jack.

• Competitive jerseys: $7 (more time involved)
