I strongly believe in giving back to my community. Sewing is a skill that can serve many purposes in a person's life- from helping to support oneself, to repairing clothing to make them last longer (and reducing expenses), to supporting mental health, where sewing can be therapy.
I volunteer at the Home Boss Youth Centre in Stittsville Ontario, where I run free sewing programs for local teens. I have also outfitted the centre with sewing machines, each one has been carefully serviced prior to donation
Each Fall, I pick one local organization where I donate 50% of my profits from hockey name bar sewing.
I collect sewing machines from the community, service them, and donate them on to community organizations for use in their programs.
