Machine Donation Program

Donate a machine and give it a new life!

Are you located in or around Ottawa, Ontario? Do  you have an old machine sitting in the basement, perhaps because grandma gave it to you, or maybe you upgraded?  Donate your old machine  and I will give it a new life with a local community group or not for profit organization.  Even if your machine is not repairable, it can often be used for parts for other machines.  Please email me  at skippedstitchesshoppe@gmail.com

Note: I will accept machines in tables and desks,  but please note that I usually remove the machines from the tables and place the machines in a base.  Most organizations do not have room for tables.  Tables are donated (generally to organizations, sometimes through local buy nothing/sewing groups) IF you are attached to your table or would prefer to keep your table, I can help you remove the machine. 

Because of demand and to make sure the sewing machines end up in the community where they are most needed, machines are donated to community organizations or not for profit groups only.  I do not donate to individuals in the community or small businesses.  Thank you for your understanding.  If you are an individual needing a sewing machine, try Eco Equitable Ottawa, Ottawa Sewing Centre or sellers on Marketplace who are selling recently serviced machines for reasonably priced used machines.  I will not respond to requests from individuals, organizations that are not in Ottawa, or small businesses.  Thank you for understanding.  

Note that machines that become available are generally older machines with usually a zig zag and a straight stitch- sometimes with other stitches.  They come pre-serviced and sew tested.  After you receive your machines, I do not provide ongoing support or maintenance for them.  I rarely receive modern machines or sergers.  I cannot offer specialty machines like embroidery or industrial machines. 

To request a machine, please send me an email to skippedstitchesshoppe@gmail.com indicating the name of your community organization, where you are located, the functionality you need for your machine(s) (e.g. types of stitches, etc) and when you need the machines by.  I will get back to you and let you know if I am able to help you.
